Bitpanda opens Technology & Innovation Hub in Poland

December 21, 2020

Bitpanda, a fintech based in Vienna, Austria, opens its new international office in Krakow, Poland and will hire 300 engineers. This reflects Bitpanda’s growing international footprint after entering new markets in France, Spain, Turkey and Italy earlier this year. As ihodl.com informs, earlier Bitpanda has announced the closure of Europe’s largest Series A funding round of 2020. The exchange has raised over $50 million from Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures and other fintech investors such as Speedinvest. “Long story short, is that we have very ambitious plans and need as many talented engineers as possible who will be able to bring our ideas to life” – says Christian Trummer, CTO and Co-Founder of the company. “I truly believe that Poland is the right place for our ambitious plans. It has shown that it is home to skilled, top-notch and qualified tech talent. Placing Bitpanda’s first Technology & Innovation Hub in Krakow, with its globally renowned developers, an exciting local tech scene and geographical proximity to Vienna, was a pretty clear and, in the end, easy choice for us” – adds Trummer.
