EY GDS has been operating in Poland since 2011 and currently employs nearly 3,000 professionals in Wrocław and Warsaw. Over the years, the organisation has significantly expanded its capabilities, building strong teams in IT, data analytics, finance, consulting, and creative services. The Katowice centre represents another milestone in EY GDS’s 15-year journey in Poland, confirming the country’s strategic importance within EY’s European operations.

The decision to locate the new centre in Katowice reflects the city’s strong talent pool, well-developed academic environment, and rapidly growing technology ecosystem. Ajay Anand, Global Vice Chair at EY GDS, emphasized Poland’s role in EY’s long-term strategy:

The launch of the EY GDS centre further confirms Katowice’s position as a stable, forward-looking destination for global business investments. Mariusz Jankowski, Head of the Investor Relations Department at the City of Katowice, underlined the broader impact of the project:

“Katowice is undergoing a dynamic economic transformation. A strong academic base, an expanding technology ecosystem, and internationally experienced talent create unique conditions for investments like EY GDS. New teams in consulting, finance, risk management, and internal transformation will strengthen the local labour market and accelerate the development of innovative competencies in our city.”

The opening of the new centre also sparked a broader discussion on the future of workforce skills in Poland. During the inauguration, a panel “Talent 2030: How business, cities and campuses create the skills of the future” brought together representatives of business, local government, and academia.

Speakers emphasized that developing future-ready talent requires close cooperation between companies and universities, with a strong focus on digital, analytical, and social skills. Initiatives such as the Global Business Services programme were highlighted as best-practice examples, combining academic education with real business projects.
