2021: a record-breaking year for investments in Poland

février 7, 2022

Greenfield foreign direct investment (FDI) reached €3.5bn in Poland and is supposed to generate 18,000 new jobs here, especially in the business, IT, automotive, medical, construction, and chemical sector. Because of a stable economy, plenty of talents, and perfect location, Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe have become a crucial area for FDI.

Poland has saved itself from the apocalyptic scenario of the Covid effect and has one of the shallowest recessions in the world. The year 2019 was the previous record year, but 2021 pointed €700m increase than the 2019 total. In 2021 South Korea was the largest investor in Poland, with projects worth €1.9bn creating 1,967 new jobs. Just ahead of the US and Germany.

Poland also attracted Belarus companies to move here last year. The increase of Belarus entrepreneurs’ interest in investments was due to Business Harbour Program that helped in relocating their operations and many Tech talents to Poland. The program has now been rolled out to 6 other Eastern countries.
