Iceland Innovation Week 2026: Building Bridges Between Poland and Iceland’s Tech Ecosystems

May 6, 2026

Last week, we wrapped up our trip to Iceland Innovation Week, where we had the pleasure of participating as partners on the Polish business mission. Together with a group of leading Polish IT and cybersecurity companies gathered by doITinPoland, we proudly represented Poland’s dynamic and fast‑growing tech ecosystem on the international stage.

Strengthening International Collaboration

The main goal of the mission was to build strong international relationships, exchange knowledge, and explore opportunities for joint innovation between Poland and Iceland. With complementary markets, shared values, and a strong focus on technology and sustainability, the Polish–Icelandic connection proved to be a perfect match.

Meaningful Conversations and New Opportunities

Throughout the week, we met and spoke with numerous startups as well as established companies, discussing the opportunities Poland offers as a technology and talent hub. From IT services to cybersecurity and product development, Poland continues to attract interest as a reliable and innovative partner.

We also took part in multiple networking events, including dedicated partner gatherings such as the Founder & Investor Mixer, where we gained valuable insights into the challenges and trends shaping the most talked‑about sectors of this year’s Innovation Week.

A Visit to the Polish Embassy in Reykjavik

Our joint Polish booth was a hub of conversations and connections. We had the honor of welcoming the Ambassador of Poland to Iceland, Aleksander Kropiwnicki, as well as Maciej Duszyński, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. , whose presence highlighted the importance of strengthening economic and technological cooperation between our countries.

Beyond the exhibition floor, we were invited to a special meeting at the Polish Embassy in Reykjavik. Representatives of Winged IT, Karacena, and Soflab Technology took part in an in‑depth discussion with the embassy team.

This was a one‑of‑a‑kind opportunity to better understand the Icelandic market from the inside — how the local labor market works, what challenges Icelandic companies face, and where Polish tech firms can add real value. We also had the chance to present our companies, services, and practical ways we can support Icelandic businesses in scaling and innovation.

Experiencing Iceland Beyond Business

No visit to Iceland would be complete without experiencing its extraordinary nature. Alongside our business activities, we had the chance to explore the country’s breathtaking landscapes, including the beautiful sites of the Golden Circle, such as Gullfoss waterfall, Haukadalur geothermal area, the volcanic crater Kerið, and the Þingvellir National Park.

Even with truly “Icelandic” weather, capturing drone footage and seeing this remarkable place where nature and history meet was an unforgettable experience — and a perfect reminder of the balance between innovation, sustainability, and environment that Iceland represents so well.

The Power of Cooperation

We would like to thank all the companies that joined us on the Polish business mission for their presence, openness, and engagement throughout Iceland Innovation Week. Together, we were able to present a significant part of the competencies available on the Polish tech market. We hope this is just the beginning of many shared initiatives and that we will meet again in this strong and inspiring group.

We look forward to continuing our mission of promoting Poland as a leading European tech hub and strengthening its position on the global innovation map!
