Microsoft AI Training Program: Empowering Poland’s Workforce for the Future

December 3, 2024

Poland is rapidly becoming a key player in the global tech landscape, with artificial intelligence playing a pivotal role in shaping its economic future. As AI adoption grows across industries, there is an increasing demand for skilled professionals who can harness its potential to drive innovation and business success. To address this gap, Microsoft announced its ambitious AI Training Program during the Microsoft AI Tour event in Warsaw.

The Polish Job Market and the Growing Demand for AI Talent

Poland is on the verge of a technological revolution, with artificial intelligence playing a central role in shaping its future. According latest data from IDC’s 2024, 77% of Polish companies of organizations in Poland are already using, or will be using, AI in the next 12 months.

The Microsoft Work Trend Index also reveals that 53% of business leaders in Poland would no longer hire individuals without AI skills, and 61% of employees already use AI tools in their daily work.

Microsoft’s AI Training Program

In response to the growing demand for AI professionals, Microsoft has launched an AI training initiative aimed at providing one million people in Poland with the necessary skills by the end of 2025. This program is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to strengthen Poland’s position as a leading tech hub in Europe.

The company, which has been present in Poland since 1992, has long been committed to fostering innovation and building a strong digital ecosystem in the country, including the establishment of the Azure Poland Central cloud region.

Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft highlighted the significance of the project:

“To benefit from AI, individuals need the skills to use it. This new investment in AI skilling will help ensure that people in Poland can harness this transformative technology across the economy.”

AI Skills Navigator: Free Access to Comprehensive AI Training

The core of Microsoft’s initiative is the AI Skills Navigator platform, which offers over 200 free courses from platforms like LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, GitHub, and other partners; localized courses, including the “AI Fluency” course, now available in Polish, and an AI assistant to guide learners and personalized assessments to identify skills gaps.

These courses are designed to cater to learners at all levels, from beginners to experienced developers, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to gain the skills necessary to thrive in the AI-driven job market.

Through its partnerships with universities, NGOs, and tech communities, Microsoft aims to reach a diverse range of learners across Poland, ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds and regions can benefit from this training. This collaborative approach will help close the skills gap and prepare the workforce for the growing demands of AI technology.

A Strong Future for AI in Poland

Microsoft’s investment in AI skills development is a long-term commitment to Poland’s future as a global leader in AI technology. By training one million individuals by 2026, the program will help ensure that Poland’s workforce remains at the forefront of the AI revolution.
