OpenAI has acquired Neptune.ai, a Polish-founded startup known for its advanced tools for tracking and monitoring machine learning model training. Under the agreement, Neptune will join OpenAI’s research organization, where its technology will support AI scientists in monitoring, debugging, and evaluating frontier models.

For Neptune’s leadership, this acquisition marks both a milestone and an opportunity to build even more influential tools alongside some of the world’s top AI researchers. As part of the acquisition, Neptune’s standalone services will be gradually phased out. A structured transition programme is already underway, and external services are expected to close by March 4, 2026. The company’s 60-person team will become part of OpenAI.
