We are one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Vattenfall is a European energy company with approximately 21,000 employees. For more than 100 years, we have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming everyday life through innovation and collaboration.
We are committed to building a future where everyone can choose fossil-free ways to move, make and live. To achieve this, we must become fossil-free ourselves. But our ambitions go beyond our own operations. Together with our partners, we are developing sustainable solutions that help electrify transportation and industry. We lead by action, identifying areas where we can be a first mover and inspiring others to follow us and multiply our impact.
Vattenfall established its presence in Poland in the 1990s, with its operations growing significantly in the early 2000s. The company previously operated district heating assets in Warsaw and an electricity distribution business in Gliwice. Although these major assets were sold in 2011, Vattenfall remains present in Poland through Vattenfall IT Services Poland (VISP).
VISP has been operating since 1 November 2011 and today employs more than 480 professionals in Katowice, one of Poland’s leading technology hubs. As a strategic IT competence centre for the Vattenfall Group, VISP supports business operations and digital transformation initiatives across multiple European markets. The Polish entity operates primarily in IT, complemented by teams in areas such as HR and Finance. VISP delivers services across a wide range of disciplines, including e-mobility, software engineering, application development, cybersecurity, monitoring operations, network services, Internet of Things (IoT), and the International IT Service Desk.
