Toyota Motor Europe Opens New Digital Hub in Wrocław

April 17, 2026

Toyota Motor Europe has announced the launch of a new technology center in Wrocław. The newly established Toyota Digital Hub is expected to employ around 200 IT specialists focused on developing advanced software, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity systems.

The team will play a key role in enhancing the MyToyota and LexusLink+ mobile applications, already used by more than 2 million customers across Europe. These platforms enable remote vehicle control, battery monitoring, and a wide range of digital services that improve the overall ownership experience.

Poland as a Strategic Technology Base of Toyota

Across Europe, Toyota employs more than 26,000 people and has invested over €12 billion in the region. Poland is becoming an increasingly important part of this ecosystem, not only in manufacturing but also in digital innovation.

They have been present in our country for over 30 years and continue to expand their footprint. The company operates manufacturing plants in Wałbrzych and Jelcz-Laskowice, as well as a Shared Services Centre in Wrocław, established in 2015.

Thus, Poland plays a strategically important role in Toyota Motor Europe’s operations across the continent, making the choice of Wrocław a natural and well-grounded decision. This perspective was highlighted by Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy:

“This decision confirms Poland’s strong investment appeal and its position as a hub for modern technologies.”

On the other hand, Thierry Boitel, Vice President of R&D at Toyota Motor Europe, confirmed that the key driver behind the investment in Poland is the country’s exceptional pool of tech talent:

“Poland was selected due to its strong pool of highly skilled specialists and leading technical universities. This project strengthens our long-term commitment to the Polish market.”

Wrocław – the “Polish Silicon Valley”

The choice of Wrocław is no coincidence. The city has built a strong reputation as one of Central and Eastern Europe’s leading technology hubs. Its rapidly growing IT sector, presence of global companies, and access to highly skilled graduates from top technical universities have earned it the nickname “the Polish Silicon Valley.”

This position was reinforced by its high ranking in the “European Cities of the Future 2025” report published by fDi Intelligence.

Driving Digital Transformation with a Strong Talent Pool

By investing in Poland, Toyota Motor Europe is not only strengthening its technological capabilities but, above all, tapping into one of the country’s greatest assets: its highly skilled talent pool. This move reinforces Poland’s position as a leading innovation hub, where software, connectivity, and smart mobility solutions are shaping the future of the automotive industry, with Wrocław playing a central role.

The decision to establish the new hub there reflects strong confidence in Poland’s rapidly growing tech sector and its deep base of qualified specialists. Both this investment and the earlier choice of Wrocław as a key operational center in 2015 demonstrate a consistent and well-founded strategic approach.

As highlighted by Thierry Boitel, Poland stands out for its exceptional availability of top-tier developers and engineering talent, making it an ideal location for advanced digital and software-driven initiatives.
