Why Poland is the Ideal Destination for South Korean Gaming and Creative Companies?

November 27, 2025

For some time, Poland has been an attractive destination for South Korean gaming companies in the creative sector. The country’s growing talent pool, dynamic gaming and entertainment industries, and strategic location in Central and Eastern Europe make it an ideal hub for international collaboration and expansion. Recent initiatives and investments highlight Poland’s role as a bridge between East Asia and Europe, offering both business opportunities and access to a highly skilled workforce.

First K-Content Expo in Warsaw Strengthens Korea-Poland Creative Ties

This trend was further confirmed by the first-ever K-Content Expo held in Warsaw. The event brought together 32 Korean and 70 European companies, resulting in 402 business meetings and contracts worth a total of USD 29.97 million. Leading Korean creative companies held discussions with partners from Poland, the UK, Germany, and Sweden, both online and in person.

As a result of these consultations, 10 memorandums of understanding were signed between Korean companies and local businesses to collaborate on the export of digital content.

New KOCCA Business Center in Warsaw

A major milestone and one of the latest ones is the opening of the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) business center in Warsaw, the first office in Central and Eastern Europe. Founded in 2009, KOCCA supports the global growth of South Korea’s cultural content and will now help Korean companies expand into Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and the Baltic states, offering export insurance, market support, and operational assistance.

“We want Poland to become a hub connecting Central and Eastern Europe with East Asia,” Iljoong Kim, head of KOCCA Poland, told Business Insider Polska. “Poland has enormous potential, especially in the gaming and animation industries, but also in film and music. […] It is well-known for its high level of creativity in these sectors.”

He also highlighted Poland’s “enormous potential,” praising its strong film, music, animation, and gaming industries, as well as the growing local interest in Korean culture. With KOCCA’s Warsaw office providing dedicated support, South Korean companies can more easily navigate the European market while leveraging Poland’s dynamic creative industries.

South Korean Gaming Companies Investing in Poland

This initiative aligns with a broader trend of South Korean gaming companies investing increasingly in Poland. We have been aware of the rising interest and investments in Poland from the South Korean leading gaming studios since 2024.

NCSoft Corp. partnered with the Polish studio Virtual Alchemy, while Neowiz invested USD 8 million in Zakazane and an additional USD 17 million to support Blank Game Studios. Krafton, creator of PUBG: Battlegrounds, acquired a 10% stake in the renowned Polish studio People Can Fly for USD 30 million.

Poland at the Heart of Gaming in Europe

According to the latest “The Game Industry of Poland – Report 2025,” Poland is now home to 824 game studios employing 14,700 specialists, making it one of the leading game-producing countries in Europe. Nearly 97% of all games developed in Poland are sold internationally. Moreover, the country is home to some of the most respected studios in the world, including CD Projekt RED, creators of the globally acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher series.

Polish companies have also established world-class expertise in digital distribution, localization, external development, asset production, and quality assurance, with Europe’s largest QA and testing hub located in the country. Platforms like GOG.com showcase Poland’s ability to innovate not only in game creation but also in supporting global game markets.

A Perfect Moment for Poland-Korea Creative Partnership

These events, investments, and developments, combined with Poland’s talented workforce, dynamic creative industries, and strong international connections, ensure that the Poland-Korea partnership will continue to grow and thrive. So this is the perfect moment to tap into Poland’s thriving talent pool, forge new partnerships, and accelerate innovation across gaming, film, music, and digital content.
